Egypt has appointed the first-ever female governor. Nadia Abdu Saleh is the first lady to be appointed as the Governor of Al Beheira، northwestern the country.
Ms. Saleh graduated in 1968 from the Faculty of Engineering، Department of Chemistry، and got a Master degree in Engineering، Alexandria University.
She served in a number of leading occupations including Al Beheira vice-governor in August 2013. She also was the first woman to hold presidency of the Alexandria drinking water for 10 years.
Ms. Saleh was also vice president of the supreme body of the Elders of Afro-Arab Council for Integration and Development.
She was a candidate to get the best scientific humane breakthrough Award، in recognition of her efforts in the field of labor and water.
She is a member of the Mediterranean Institute General Assembly in France since 1987, and member of the General Assembly of the World Water Council.
She is also a member of the Alexandria Business Association.
