Tourism Promotion Bureau in Touna Al Gabal، Malawi، south of Minya، received a delegation of tourists coming from Germany، consisting of 35 people to visit the tourist and archaeological sites in Minya Governorate and learn about the history of the Pharaonic civilization.
The delegation's program began with a visit to the archaeological sites in Ashmounin and then went to the area of Touna Al-Gabal، where they visited the cemetery of the high priest Petwizer، the Roman Archaeological Quarry، the Holy Sepulcher، the Jhouti cemetery، the ibis bird in Saradeeb and the western Akhenaton plate.
Tourism officials expect an increase in the number of tourists visiting Egypt in the coming period، as European countries start to lift the flights ban to Sinai.
European countries and the US have imposed a flights ban to Sinai، after a Russian civilian plane crashed in Sinai، killing all passengers and the flight crew members، in October 2015.
The total number of tourists who visited Egypt reached 640179 tourists in February 2016، according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
