The Port of Sharm El Sheikh received Friday ‘Norwegian Star’ cruise ship، carrying 2040 tourists of different nationalities، coming from Safaga Port.
Spokesman for Red Sea Ports Authority Malak Youssef revealed in a statement to reporters that the Port of Sharm El Sheikh witnessed the arrival of ‘Albatros’ cruise ship، carrying 508 tourists of different nationalities، coming from Hurghada Port.
Youssef pointed out that the tourists will visit Sharm El Sheikh’s touristic attractions، including Saint Catherine's Monastery، Dahab and Naama Bay.
For his part، Head of Red Sea Ports Authority General Hisham Abu Sana stressed that the authority coordinated with their counterparts at Safaga and Hurghada ports in order to facilitate arrival procedures and provide comfort for the passengers.
Tourism officials expect an increase in the number of tourists visiting Egypt in the coming period، as European countries start to lift the flights ban to Sinai.
European countries and the US have imposed a flights ban to Sinai، after a Russian civilian plane crashed in Sinai، killing all passengers and the flight crew members، in October 2015.
The total number of tourists who visited Egypt reached 640179 tourists in February 2016، according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
