Spokesman for Red Sea Ports Authority Malak Youssef revealed Saturday in a statement to reporters that ‘Norwegian Star’ cruise ship، carrying 2030 tourists of different nationalities on board is preparing to depart the Port of Sharm El Sheikh.
Youssef pointed out that the ‘Albatros’ cruise ship، carrying 491 German tourists on board is also preparing to depart the Port of Sharm El Sheikh.
He explained that the tourists visited Sharm El Sheikh’s touristic attractions، including Saint Catherine's Monastery، Dahab and Naama Bay.
Tourism officials expect an increase in the number of tourists visiting Egypt in the coming period، as European countries start to lift the flights ban to Sinai.
European countries and the US have imposed a flights ban to Sinai، after a Russian civilian plane crashed in Sinai، killing all passengers and the flight crew members، in October 2015.
The total number of tourists who visited Egypt reached 640179 tourists in February 2016، according to Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
