British scientists have found a new treatment for patients that have an inherited form of Parkinson’s disease، according to "Press TV" ،an Iranian news network.
Researchers say laboratory experiments show it's possible to use genetic manipulation to prevent or slow down the symptoms of Parkinson’s.
Genetic and pharmacological approaches can be used to lower levels of toxic metabolites in the nervous system and thereby alleviate several signs of neuro-degeneration. Medics suggest they can improve “symptoms” in fruit fly models of Parkinson’s disease by feeding them a drug-like chemical.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive degenerative disease which is caused by the death of nerve cells in the brain. As the cells die off، different parts of the brain are affected and patients find they have problems with movement، smell and cognitive functions.
