Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aaty arrived Friday in Cairo on board of an Ethiopian plane coming from Capital of Ethiopia Addis Ababa، after a three-day visit as part of a tour to African countries.
The minister met with Ethiopian officials during his visit، to discuss ways of boosting bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries، especially in water resources and irrigation fields، in addition to discussing the Ethiopian dam issue.
Prior to his departure from Egypt، Abdel Aaty received a detailed report on the ministry's efforts in confronting the violations of the Nile River and the network of canals in various governorates of the country.
Egypt and Ethiopia have enjoyed strong relations throughout their history. Egypt believes in the importance of supporting economic and trade relations with Ethiopia due to its potential benefits for both sides، which would create a network of mutual interests boosting political relations and، therefore، reflect positively on the level of confidence and cooperation between the two sides in all areas، according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
