The Egyptian ambassador to Cairo، Habib al-Sadr، said that there is an agreement to provide Egypt with 12 million barrels of oil derivatives per year.
Al-Sadr added that all obstacles to implementing this agreement have been overcome.
"The arrival of the shipment of oil to Egypt reflects the fact that the relationship between the two countries has become strategic after the relationship has been stagnant since the 1980s،" Sadr said in an exclusive interview with the Extra News channel on Thursday.
He pointed out that the past period has seen important visits by senior officials in the two countries، most notably a meeting between President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister and the President of the National Alliance.
He added that the level of trade exchange between Egypt and Iraq amounted to 900 million dollars last year، and these levels do not meet the aspirations of the two countries.
