Egypt’s Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal has discussed in a meeting with Japan’s House of Representatives Speaker Tadamori Oshima ways of fostering bilateral ties، especially in the economic and development areas and terror combat.
The meeting comes within the framework of Abdel Aal’s visit to Tokyo at the head of a high-profile parliamentary delegation.
During the talks، Abdel Aal asserted that Egypt greatly appreciates cooperation ties with Japan، which reached distinguished levels، the Egyptian parliament said in a statement on Thursday.
The Egyptian House of Representative looks forward to strengthening relations with the Japanese Parliament; the statement quoted Abdel Aal as saying.
Also، Abdel Aal invited his Japanese counterpart to visit Egypt with members of the Egyptian-Japanese Parliamentary Friendship Association.
While in a separate meeting with Japanese House of Councilors’ President Chuichi Date، Abdel Aal stressed that Egypt is keen on cementing relations with the Asian country in different fields، praising the support offered by the Japanese government to finance a number of major development projects in Egypt، the statement read.
Furthermore، Abdel Aal pointed to the active role played by the Egyptian parliament to face challenges، including issuing legislation to fight terrorism، the statement noted.
