The 20-year-old defender has opted to represent Ivory Coast at international level، despite being capped for Les Bleus at Under-20 level، to join Maxwell Cornet and Seko Fofana. Gnagnon is in line for his first cap for the Elephants after impressing with Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais this season، making 29 appearances and scoring twice in his only second professional season. The defender has been named in Ivory Coast’s new manager Marc Wilmots‘ squad for their friendly encounter with the Netherlands on Sunday، June 4 and the 2019 AFCON qualifier at home to Guinea on Saturday، June 10.
