One week before Israel's Premier League begins its official 2017-18 soccer season، the Beitar Jerusalem team is in the news - and not for a good reason، as Arutz Sheva said.

On Friday morning، police sappers were called to deal with an object suspected of being an explosive device، found near Beitar Jerusalem owner Eli Tabib's home in central Israel.
Tabib is currently vacationing abroad.
The sappers arrived at the scene and investigated the object، which they believe to be an explosive device. No one was harmed and no damage was caused.
The streets near Tabib's home were closed off for further investigations.
This is not the first time police have dealt with a threat to Tabib: Grenades and stun grenades have been thrown at his home and car، and shots were fired at him as well.
Though Tabib owns Beitar Jerusalem، he no longer serves as the group's chairman، having passed the role to former soccer star Eli Ohana.
