Major General Saeed Taaima، Chairman of Transportation and Communications Committee in the House of Representatives، said that the committee has requested more than once from the former transport ministers an integrated and feasible plan for the development of the railway.
Taeema said during a phone call to Sabah Al-Balad television program that the former Minister of Transport، Jalal Al-Saeed، had submitted a plan to the committee but it was rejected because it was "rhetoric" rather than real development plan..
He pointed out that the current Minister of Transport has not presented to Parliament the plan for the development of the railway، noting that technology can do nothing to the facility without disciplining the human element.
The Minister of Transport called for the establishment of a 24-hour operations room directly connected to the Minister's office to inform him of all faults immediately.
