Zamalek are currently interested in signing German football manager Bernd Schuster to lead the team following the dismissal of Augusto Inacio, according to media reports.
King Fut said that the Cairo giants are looking for a replacement for the Portuguese coach، who was sacked two weeks ago، with former Zamalek player Tarek Yehia being appointed as an interim manager.
Bernd Schuster is best known for managing Real Madrid in 2007 and was in charge of the team for more than one year. He later coached Turkish side Besiktas for one season and returned afterward to Spain managing Malaga CF also for one season before having his contract terminated in 2014 after failing to achieve a top-half position in the league، leaving him a free agent since then.
Kingfut understands that Schuster is asking for more than $2 million per year while Zamalek are expected to offer him a $1 million salary which is the club’s cap.
It is worth mentioning that the White Knights were also in contact with England’s former coach Sven Goran Eriksson after the Swedish coach confirmed Zamalek’s interest. Kingfut also reported before that Ex-Anderlecht and Sporting Lisbon manager Frank Vercauterenm، 60، is also on this list for Zamalek job، with the Belgian manager arriving in Egypt to negotiate with the White Castle.
