A high-speed chase on the coastal road ended with a multi-car pileup. Ten people were injured Thursday morning in a police chase after two suspected stolen cars. During the chase، a policeman shot in the air after determining his life was in danger، as Arutz Sheva said.
Magen David Adom paramedics treated the injured from the collision of the stolen vehicles with a service taxi، including a haredi family.
Two vehicles were stolen، one from Haifa and one from Tirat Hacarmel، by a car theft organization. The Etgar national police unit tasked with eliminating car theft was operating in the Netanya interchange area. A checkpoint was set up at Shfayim، but the thieves crashed through it.
A policeman who sensed danger to his life shot in the air and the two suspects stopped and got out of the cars. During the chase they hit a service taxi in which a 25-year-old was seriously injured، and was evacuated to Meir Hospital in Kfar Sava along with three lightly wounded people. Six other lightly wounded were evacuated to Laniado Hospital in Netanya.
The two thieves، residents of Tulkarm and Qalansawa، were detained for questioning. Traffic jams have been reported in the area due to the incident.
