MP Amr al-Gohary، deputy of the Economic Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives، said that the rate of inflation witnessed an unprecedented increase during the past few days، as it reached 35.26%، according to Central Bank report.
Al-Gohary added that the government has a role to play in controlling the high rate of inflation. He pointed out that there are major problems facing the country due to high inflation، including the delay of the second installment of the IMF loan.
He pointed out that the central bank will not increase interest rates again and can not reduce them at the present time until inflation is reduced، pointing out that raising the benefits is harmful to Economy & reduces investments.
He also stressed that it is normal for the Central Bank to stabilize the interest rate.
