Egyptian Muslims around the republic gathered today Friday to sacrifice livestock on the occasion of Eid Al Adha.

Ceremonial killings in slaughterhouses، in parks and even in the streets were seen today as part of Eid al-Adha.

Million of Egyptian citizens performed Eid Al Adha prayers today.

Noteworthy، Eid al-Adha، called the "Sacrifice Feast"، is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year.

The celebration honors the willingness of the Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismael at God's will، but before sacrificing his son، God intervened by sending his angel Jibra'il (Gabriel)، who then put a sheep in his son's place.

In the Islamic lunar calendar، Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.
