Cairo Criminal Court resumes today، Thursday، the re-trial of supreme guide of Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group، Mohamed Badie، and thirteen other MB leaders in a case known publicly as “Al Bahr Al A’zam incidents”.
Earlier، the prosecution accused the defendants of committing numerous crimes، including: crowding and terrorism، attempted murder، show of force، forming an armed gang to attack citizens، possession of firearms، and joining a terrorist group.
The Court of Cassation overturned the sentences of Badie and the other defendants for life imprisonment on charges of incitement to murder، attempted murder and ordered their retrial before another court.
Badie is the Supreme Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood. He has headed the Egyptian branch of the international Muslim Brotherhood organization since 2010.
Muslim Brotherhood group was classified as a terrorist organization following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi.
