At least 4 people were killed and 6 others were injured in a collision between a truck and a car on Cairo-Assiut road.
Faiyum Security Director Major General Khaled Shalaby received a notification on the accident from director of the Criminal Investigation Department.
The notification said that the driver of the truck was speeding and wanted to outrun the other car, but it didn’t go so well so they collided and that resulted in the death of 4.
The ambulances were rushed to the scene immediately to transfer the dead bodies to the morgue and the injured to the hospital to receive the proper treatment for their injuries.
Egypt loses about 12000 lives due to road traffic crashes every year. It has a road traffic fatality rate of 42 deaths per 100,000 population.
Egypt is one of the ten countries included in the WHO Road Safety in 10 countries project which will be conducted over 5 years by a consortium of six international partners.
