2 defendants face jail time in “explosives cell” case

Cairo criminal court sentenced today، Sunday، a defendant to 10 years in jail and sentenced another one to 5 year in jail in case known publicly as “explosives cell”.

The defendants face charges of taking over the leadership of a group affiliated to the Muslim Brotherhood in Helwan، forming a terrorist cell to manufacture explosive materials، attempted murder، and the possession of arms and ammunition.. During the period from August 14، 2013 to June30، 2015.

Since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi، Muslim Brotherhood group and its allied terrorist groups have been committing a number of terror attacks against state officials، policemen and army personnel across the country، but mainly in Sinai.

Muslim Brotherhood group was classified as a terrorist organization following the ouster of Morsi.
