Egypt’s President، Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi issued on Thursday a presidential decree to extend the national state of emergency for three Friday Oct. 13 at 1:00 am.
The decree has been published in the official gazette.
Egypt first imposed the state of emergency in April after two church bombings killed at least 45 people. It was then extended in July for a further three months.
Egypt faces an Islamic State insurgency in the restive Sinai Peninsula، where hundreds of soldiers and police have been killed since 2013. The group has increasingly carried out attacks in the mainland against Coptic Christian civilians in recent months، killing around 100 Copts since December.
