Egypt's Oscar Entry film “Sheikh Jackson”، will hit the American cinemas early 2018، film’s director، Amr Salama announced on his Instagram account.
Salama expressed his happiness at this step، stressing that it is one of the most important steps of his career.
“So this is a big milestone in my career، which I always wished to happen. Sheikh Jackson is getting an official release in the United States early 2018.” he captioned.
Noteworthy، Sheikh Jackson، co-produced by Film Clinic and The Producers، starring Ahmed El Fishawy، Maged El Kedwany، Dorra، Ahmed Malek and written and directed by Amr Salama.
The film’s plot goes back in 2009 when Michael Jackson died، there was a sheikh who people called Jackson. Sheikh Jackson was shocked more than everyone else when he heard about the death of Michael Jackson. But what does the king of American music and a Sheikh in Egypt have in common? More importantly، will he be able to resume his life normally or will he be trapped in the question whether he is Jackson، a Sheikh or both of them combined?
Ahmed El Feshawy plays the lead role، while rising young star Ahmed Malek plays the cleric as a teenager. Veteran actor Maged El-Kedwany stars as the cleric’s authoritarian father.

Media Luna has acquired the rights to Egyptian movie “Sheikh Jackson.
The film was selected by Egypt as its candidate for consideration for the best foreign-language film Oscar، according to Hollywood reporter.
It was also screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival.
The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the largest publicly attended film festivals in the world، attracting over 480،000 people annually.
Toronto is seen as a key launch pad for Oscar contenders.
