Portuguese Foreign Minister، Augusto Silva expressed his happiness to visit Cairo، where he will discuss ways to boost cooperation with Egypt، in addition to important regional and international issues of common interests.
He praised in his word during a joint press conference with Egyptian FM، Sameh Shoukry، the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Portugal in various fields.
Moreover، he pointed out that European Union countries cooperate with Egypt within the framework of the cooperation agreement between them.
Noteworthy، Shoukry، and Silva have inaugurated earlier Thursday the joint Egyptian-Portuguese Business forum، with the attendance of members of commerce chambers from both countries.
Ahmed El-Wakil، Chairman of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers، said that “the forum، which is organized on the sidelines of the joint ministerial committee، is a continuation of the meeting between President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the heads of the major companies during his visit to Portugal، as well as the first forum organized in Lisbon which led to increasing trade exchange and open horizons of joint investment”.
He explained that this large delegation was the result of fruitful cooperation with the Federation of Portuguese Chambers، the Portuguese Arab Chamber and the Portuguese Investment and Trade Development Agency and the Union of Egyptian European Chambers.
He affirmed that the Portuguese companies are seeking to invest in Egypt as well as joint industrialization with the Egyptian companies for the Egyptian market and the export to free trade zones in Egypt، which exceeds 2 billion consumers، especially in Africa and the Arab countries، in addition to the European Union.
