Jean François Champollion، grandson of French scholar Champollion، who deciphered the Rosetta Stone، said that the Egyptian civilization is the cradle of all world civilizations. He added that the French people have a special fondness for the ancient Egyptian civilization.
This came during a ceremony aimed to commemorate the historic importance of Rashid City. The ceremony was organized by the Beheira governorate، headed by Engineer Nadia Abdu، with the participation of the University of Damanhour and a big number of officials from Egypt and France
Champlion praised the Egyptian-French distinguished relations in the recent period. He welcomed the invitation، which was sent to him to attend this ceremony، convoying a sense of pride to be here in Egypt. He called on Rashid’s residents to continue their grandparents’ efforts to develop the historic city of Rashid.
In a press statement، He called the two countries’ governments to enhance the mutual cooperation between them. He added that great efforts are ongoing with the Egyptian government to restore Rashid’s historic importance.
