Outgoing Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri arrived in Cairo on Tuesday evening coming from France in a brief visit to Egypt during which he will meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi
Official receiving ceremony was held at Cairo airport before leaving to the presidential palace to meet with President Al-Sisi، where he will discuss the latest developments in the region and Lebanon.
Sisi has tweeted in Arabic before leaving France saying: “On the anniversary of the martyrdom of the friend and brother Pierre Amin Gemayel، we reiterate our loyalty to his and our slogan: #Lebanon_First. I will never forget how loyal you were، Pierre!” Hariri tweeted.
Hariri has been in Paris since Saturday، where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron، and has said he will return to Lebanon by Wednesday.
His surprise resignation in an announcement from Riyadh has sparked a political crisis in Lebanon as part of a regional power struggle between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
