The outgoing Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri extend thanks and appreciations to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for his support for Lebanon، stressing that President Sisi is doing his best to stabilize Lebanon.
During a press conference held Tuesday evening following a meeting with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the Cairo palace، Hariri expressed his deep sorrow for what is happening in the region، especially what is happening in his country Lebanon، and hopes for security and stability for all Arab countries.
The Lebanese Prime Minister called on the Lebanese people to exercise restraint and not to pay any attention to any illegal practices against the region. He congratulated the Lebanese people on Independence Day.
Hariri's visit to Cairo follows two weeks of deep uncertainty after he announced his resignation on November 4 in a speech from Saudi Arabia.
A message on Hariri's Twitter account said he would meet and then dine with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi، who has sought to ease the tensions between Hariri's sponsors in Saudi Arabia and the powerful Lebanese Hezbollah and its Iranian patrons.
Sisi's office said he received a phone call from Lebanese President Michel Aoun in which they discussed "the importance of preserving Lebanon's stability and elevating Lebanon's national interests."
Speaking after talks in Paris on Saturday with French President Emmanuel Macron، who is also seeking to broker a way out of the crisis، Hariri said he would "make known my position" once back in Beirut.
Hariri has been in Paris since Saturday، where he met with French President Emmanuel Macron، and has said he will return to Lebanon by Wednesday.
