Giza Criminal Court headed by Counselor، Moataz Khafagy issues on Thursday its final verdict over the case publicly known as “Ajnad Misr”.
Giza Criminal Court decided to refer the papers of 13 defendants to grand Mufti، Egypt’s highest religious authority، to explore the possibility of handing down death sentences against them، over the case publicly known as “Ajnad Misr”.
The defendants face charges of carrying out terrorist attacks targeting police and military personnel، bombing، premeditated murder of three police officers and a civilian، destroying public property and illegal possession of explosive substances.
The militant group Ajnad Misr (Soldiers of Egypt) was declared a terrorist organization by the Cairo Court for Urgent Matters.
The ruling was issued in a case filed by a human rights organization against Ajnad Misr after it claimed responsibility for several attacks on police forces.
