CAF president leaves Cairo

The head of Confederation of African Football (CAF)، Ahmed Ahmed left Cairo on Thursday heading a delegation to Mauritania for a several-day visit.

The visit aims at discussing various football issues of the continent.

A source said that، the Mauritanian Football Federation (MFF) sent an invitation to Ahmed to attend the annual ceremony to honor Mauritanian football season’s stars.

“Ahmed will head a meeting of CAF Council to discuss various football issues of Africa،” the source added.

Noteworthy، (CAF) set January 4 as the date for the awards of the best players in Africa.

The annual Gala of the African is scheduled to take place in Ghana.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah and Al Ahly right back Ahmed Fathi has been named in the final shortlist for the CAF African Player of the year.
