The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) organized a workshop on Thursday under the theme “Exploitation of Associated Gases of Oil Production in Egypt.”
Representatives from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and a number of production companies heads، in addition to a number of concerned authorities officials، to discuss the study the challenges of exploitation of associated gases.
During the event، The EBRD representative said that Egypt is one of the best countries with all potentials to address the trend of reaching gas efficiently، stressing the importance of establishing legislative frameworks to regulate the process.
He also affirmed the Bank's commitment to providing financial and technical support to Egypt regarding this field.
Infrastructure development is one of the strategic priorities of the EBRD and one of the pillars of the bank’s business activities. Every year the EBRD invests approximately 25% of its new business across a diverse range of subsectors، including rail، roads، urban transport، waterwastewater، ports، logistics، airports، district heating and cooling، facilities management، irrigation and solid waste management.
The EBRD is involved in 52 projects in Egypt and it has so far invested some €2،733 million in the country.
