Iran-backed Houthi rebels have completely banned social network in Yemen، including Facebook، Twitter، Telegram and Whatsapp، according to Extra News satellite channel.
The Houthis have also restricted internet usage and any memberships to it in an attempt to censor and control content coming out of Yemen.
Earlier this morning، reports said that around 20 Houthi militiamen were killed and 11 others were captured following violent clashes with the Yemeni army on the outskirts of al-Khoukha city، south of Hodeidah.
The Yemeni army، supported by the popular resistance، purged several areas south of Hodeidah and attacked the militias’ posts from the three fronts of al-Hameli، Yakhtal and al-Zahari، south of Khoukha.
This is the Saudi-led Arab coalition scored its first major gains in Yemen since former President Ali Abdullah Saleh was killed on Monday when local fighters captured an area on the Red Sea coast from Houthi militias.
