International economic expert Bertil Tionis van Vogt said that Egypt currently heads the African countries attracting investment list، pointing out that the emerging companies in Egypt exceed the number of all companies in Africa.
Vogt، who heads Business Development of “VC for Africa” said، in a meeting that brought together entrepreneurs and fast-growing business leaders led by Ben White، founder and chief executive officer of VC for Africa، that there are many promising African markets including Kenya، Nigeria، South Africa، Uganda and Cameron.
For their part، participants in the meeting stressed that there are some obstacles that limit the expansion in investment in Africa، especially the lack of sufficient capital to create huge investments and lack of confidence in some countries’ investment climate.
They pointed out that some individuals do not prefer to make investments، because they do not want to endure some risks، while there are other people who prefer safe investments، including the purchase of treasury bills.
They pointed out that the lack of energy and insufficient political stability in many African countries has reduced the ability of these countries to attract more investments. He added that some investors are enforced to end their projects due to the non-sufficiency of investment returns.
