President of Cairo University Mohamed Osman Al-Khosht commented on the university decision to sack Amr Hamzawi from his position as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. He said that the university has nothing to do with his political affiliations، but the decision came due to his absence from work for a year and a half.
In an interview with Haza El-Sabah “This Morning” talk show aired on the privately owned “Extra News” TV satellite channel. He said that the university sent three notices to Hamzawi to announce its refusal of him to be seconded to a university in the United States، but Hamzawi did not abide by the law. He pointed out that some people exploited the university decision and criticized the university policy.
