The Syndicate of Journalists’ Council، headed by Abdel Mohsen Salama، head of the Journalists Syndicate، held an emergency meeting، upon a request of a number of the council members، to discuss the circumstances of the imprisonment of two members of the General Assembly during the protest stance staged in solidarity with the Jerusalem issue.

Six members of the Journalists 'Syndicate Council submitted a request to the Journalists' Syndicate head، Abdul Mohsen Salama، to hold an emergency meeting to discuss the crisis of Hossam al-Swaify and Ahmed Abd el-Aziz، who were arrested for participating in a demonstration against the Jerusalem decision in front of the Syndicate.
The two members of the Journalists’ Syndicate were kidnapped during a protest stance staged against US President Trump’s decision to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
President Donald Trump announced last Wednesday the United States would recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital، breaking with decades of US foreign policy and international consensus agreeing that the city’s status must be determined through Israeli-Palestinian negotiations.
