Enhancing military cooperation with Cyprus، Greece to protect Mediterranean gas: expert

Major General Mohei Noah، a strategic expert، said that the tripartite military agreement، signed among Egypt، Cyprus and Greece over navigation lines، aimed at protecting common interests in the Mediterranean Sea Region.
In an exclusive statement to Sada El-Balad News Website، Noah pointed out that the aim of the agreement is to protect the economic waters and to secure the new oil and natural gas discoveries in the Mediterranean region from any possible terrorist attacks.
The defense ministers of Egypt، Cyprus and Greece have recently agreed to strengthen military cooperation and increase joint exercises، as well as threats to the Middle East، particularly armed conflicts، terrorist groups and illegal immigration.
Egypt’s Defense Minister Sedky Sobhy and his Cypriot and Greek counterparts agreed on developing and enhancing the tripartite military trainings between their countries during the coming period to counter the dangers of terrorism.
Egypt، Greece and Cyprus gave the international community a model for successful international relations and cooperation between countries، according to Sisi’s statements during a meeting with the Cypriot parliament head in Nicosia، describing the unique relations between the three governments.
He added that the relations between Egypt، Greece and Cyprus are strong and historical. The visit to Nicosia was the first for an Egyptian president and included more than several meetings between Sisi and some of the state’s senior officials.
