Electricity announces 6000 MW spare increase in electricity daily production

Electricity Ministry expected a spare increase in today’s Sunday production estimated at 6000 MW.

The ministry said in a statement that no electricity loads have been reduced either by forced outage or by reducing loads in coordination with the participants.

In its report، the authority added that the peak load on Sunday is expected to hit 24.500 megawatts compared to 24.300 megawatts on Saturday. The report pointed out that the minimum load reached 16.1600 megawatts yesterday.

It is noteworthy that no loads reductions have been carried out since June 2015

Noteworthy، Red color means that we are in an urgent need to rationalize consumption، Green color means that the load is safe at this time، and Orange color means a warning to the high load on the network.

Egyptian electricity holding company calls the citizens for contributing in decreasing any loads that may lead to power cut off.

Electric utilities measure the electricity consumption of their customers with meters that are usually located on the outside of the customer's property where the power line enters the property.

In the past، all electricity meters were mechanical devices that a utility employee had to read manually. Eventually، automated reader devices became available.

These meters periodically report electricity use to utilities from mechanical meters with an electronic signal.

Now، many utilities use electronic smart meters، which provide wireless access to the meter's power usage data، to measure electricity consumption on a real-time basis. Some smart meters can even measure the electricity use of individual devices and allow the utility or customer to control electricity use remotely.
