Minister of Immigration and Expatriates' Affairs Nabila Makram held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Egyptian national who is reportedly assaulted in Saudi Arabia.
Makarm confirmed that the condition of the victim is stable، pointing out that he Is currently under treatment and will be under observation for two days.
Makram wished a speedy recovery for the Egyptian young man، stressing the continued follow-up on the situation and the legal procedures over the incident.
According to the statement، the ministry received information from the Egyptian media about the Egyptian national Ali Al-Sayed Ali Ahmed، who is working in Riyadh، after suffering a knife attack by four young men، which left him in blood with serious injuries.
Egypt is reeling from assaults on Egyptian expatriates، especially in Gulf countries.
Earlier this December، social media users circulated a video captured by CCTV on Tuesday of a Kuwaiti man brutally assaulting an Egyptian worker at a central marketplace in the al-Shuwaikh area in Kuwait.
In May 2016، a video went viral online showing a Kuwaiti man beating stripped naked Egyptian worker with a stick as the victim cried and pleaded.
