INSTAGRAM fans desperate to share their snaps with friends are about to be treated to a new feature، the sun reported.

The app is testing a way to share Stories on Whatsapp، with the trials reportedly already going ahead in Brazil.

The stories will be in a similar format to those shared on Instagram، and will only last 24 hours.

TechCrunch was one of the first to notice the trial، reporting that the feature had been spotted by users around the world.

Facebook has already made a change that will allow you to post a story directly to the site - with this change just the latest in improving flexibility.

A WhatsApp spokesperson said: "We are always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram and make it easier to share any moment with the people who matter to you."

But for those already looking for the change in settings، you may have to be more patient - it isn't clear when the final change will be rolled out.

Facebook owns both Instagram and Whatsapp، with the move presumably working to make it even more seamless to share videos and photos.

Instagram Stories has more than 300 million active daily users.

WhatsApp Status - with photos and videos that disappear in 24 hours - also has 300 million users.
