National Elections Authority (NEA) decided to extend the period of receiving applications from Egyptian، foreign and international civil society organizations which wants to monitor the presidential elections 2018 to Monday، January 22.
Noteworthy، NEA headed by Chancellor Lashin Ibrahim held a conference last Mondy to announce the detailed timetable for Egypt’s upcoming presidential elections.
Egypt’s presidential election will take place on March 26-28، the national election commission said on Monday، with a run-off set for April 24-26 if needed، said NEA، Reuters reported.
NEA added that، the first round results will be announced on April 2 and، in the event of a run-off، on May 1.
NEA announced Wednesday that the upcoming presidential elections' candidates should met the following conditions; 1- The candidate should be an Egyptian and his father and mother should be also Egyptian. 2- The candidate neither him nor his parents or his wife possess another nationality. 3- The candidate should be in full enjoyment of one's political rights. 4- The candidate should have performed compulsory national service or have been exempted from it. 5- The candidate shouldn’t be less than 40 years. 6- The candidate should obtain a high degree in education. 7- The candidate should have no previous convictions for an offence against honor or a breach of trust، even if rehabilitated. 8- The candidate shouldn’t suffering from a psychological or mental disorder that affects the performance of his job.
