Parliament prepares for busy schedule ahead of cabinet reshuffle

Egyptian Parliament، headed by Speaker Ali Abdel Aal، has just announced the agenda of an emergency session، which set to be held on Sunday، which will discuss President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s announcement on the upcoming ministerial reshuffle.
The plenary session is scheduled to be held at 12 pm، while the General Secretariat of the Parliament sent a text message to all lawmakers to attend the session.
The Parliament is also set to mull over a series of proposals and draft laws submitted to Parliament in various fields.
Egypt’s constitution stipulates that the President may conduct a cabinet reshuffle "after consultation with the Prime Minister and approval of the House of Representatives by an absolute majority of the members present، which must not be less than one-third of its members.”
Egypt’s last ministerial reshuffle was in November 2017، when it witnessed the merging of the investment ministry and the ministry of international cooperation.
