Spokesman for Alexandria Port Authority، Reda al-Ghandour announced Sunday that Alexandria Port Authority decided to close Alexandria and Dakhila ports، due to the bad weather and waves heights.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has detected a wave rise، and wind speeds higher than normal، which may pose risk to the ships.

The closure came to maintain the safety of lives، ships، sidewalks، and goods، it added.

The ports will be re-opened once the weather improves.

The Maximum temperature predicted for Cairo is 19 C.

Noteworthy، with the small exception of its strip of Mediterranean coastline، the whole of Egypt has an arid desert climate، according to weather and climate website.

Throughout Egypt، days are commonly warm or hot، and nights are cool.

Egypt has only two seasons: a mild winter from November to April and a hot summer from May to October.

Egypt receives fewer than eighty millimeters of precipitation annually in most areas.

Most rain falls along the coast، but even the wettest area (around Alexandria)، receives only about 200 millimeters of precipitation per year.

The best time to travel to Egypt is during the winter، between December and February، when temperatures range between 20 to 26 degrees Celsius (68 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit).
