Giza Criminal Court، headed by Chancellor، Mohamed Nagy Khafaga sentenced on Sunday a defendant to death in the case known publicly as “Kerdasa Incidents”.
As per the court ruling، the death sentence will be sent to the grand mufti to take his advisory opinion.
The case involves 156 defendants. Last July، the court upheld the death penalty for 20 men in the same case.
Moreover، The court sentenced 80 people to life in prison and 34 to 15 years in jail. One minor was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 21 people were acquitted.
According to the prosecution the defendants face charges of gathering، using force، inciting violence against the police، possessing unauthorized arms and ammunition in the city of Kerdasa، Giza، in December 2014.
