Sudanese FM Ghandour resigns

That Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir accepted the resignation of Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour، according to media reports quoting Sudanese sources.

Bashir has named Sudan's ambassador in Juba، Mutrif Sidiq to assume office replacing Ghandour.

Noteworthy، Ghandour، whose background is in academia as opposed to the military، was choosed as foreign minister since June 6، 2015 as part of an attempt by the Sudanese government to boost ties with the United States.

Ghandour also served as a presidential assistant، and previously worked as a consultant with the World Health Organisation (WHO).
