Al-Sisi mulls over establishing Egyptian industrial zone in Ethiopia

President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi met، Thursday، Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn at Al-Ittihadia to address the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the meeting، President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi discussed the establishment of an industrial zone in Ethiopia، the support of private sector investments for Egyptians in Ethiopia، which reached $750 million and boosting of trade exchange between Egypt and Ethiopia.

During a press conference held today with the Ethiopian Prime Minister، Al-Sisi added that they have been consulting for two years to set up a joint investment fund between Egypt، Ethiopia and Sudan with a view to enhancing investment rates between the three countries.
Al-Sissi stressed that Egypt and Ethiopia have joint historical relationship over the years through the Nile River، which has been and still a link of integration and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Desalegn arrived in Cairo on Wednesday accompanied by a high-profile delegation to attend the sixth meeting of the joint Egyptian-Ethiopian Higher Committee.

The last meeting was held three years ago and tackled bilateral cooperation in several fields، including education، health، agriculture and fisheries.

Desalegn’s three-day visit comes within the framework of the joint Egyptian-Ethiopian Committee، which was postponed several times since last December.
