Immigration minister flies to London to urge expats to vote in presidential elections

Immigration Minister Nabila Makram said she would take advantage of her visit to London to call on the Egyptian expatriates there to take part in the electoral process.

In statements before leaving for London on Saturday، to convey the success achieved in Egypt in the past four years.

Makram appealed to Egyptian expatriate aboard to effectively partake in the upcoming presidential elections set to be held in March.

Campaigning for the election begins on February 24 and will last until March 23.

The National Elections Authority will accept applications between January 20 and 29 from presidential hopefuls who are collecting the required number of signatures to stand.

The vote will be held on March 26-28، with a run-off vote on April 24-26 if no candidate wins more than 50 percent in the first round. Candidates will register from Jan. 20 to 29.
