Arab coalition meeting aims to end Yemen crisis: El-Orabi

Mohammed El-Orabi، a former Egyptian foreign minister and a member of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee said that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry’s current visit to Riyadh aims at coordinating with the Arab coalition countries in light of the latest developments in Yemen.

In a statement to Sada ElBalad on Monday، El-Orabi assured that the meeting focuses on coordination with the coalition countries to deliver humanitarian assistance to Yemeni civilians، and set specific visions that accelerate the activity of the political process.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry visits Riyadh today، Monday to takes part in the meeting of Foreign Ministers and Chiefs of Staff of the Coalition to support Legitimacy in Yemen، to discuss the latest developments in the Yemeni crisis، and to coordinate among the Coalition’s States.

Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs، Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid، said the meeting will discuss three main dimensions; the military dimension in order to assess the security situation and the ongoing military operations، the political dimension in terms of prioritizing reaching a comprehensive political solution in accordance with the relevant international terms of reference of the political process in Yemen، consisting of the relevant Security Council resolutions، the Gulf Initiative، and the outcomes of the national dialogue، so as to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people.

The third dimension entails the humanitarian situation and the Coalition’s efforts aimed at addressing the humanitarian challenges in Yemen، as well as means to coordinate between the Coalition’s members in order to provide and deliver humanitarian assistance to civilians، and alleviate the citizens’ suffering، in addition to supporting the Yemen's reconstruction efforts in all fields.
