Ramses II statue transferring process to Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) hall entrance costs LE 13.6 Million including paving and preparing a special road to bear the weight of the statue، Antiquities minister، Khaled Anany said.
In a statement، Anany added that the transferring process is implemented in cooperation with Armed forces engineering authority and Arab contractors Company.
Noteworthy، Ramses II statue was successfully transferred earlier today to Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) hall entrance، under the supervision of Antiquities ministry.
About 100 local and foreign TV channels covered the transferring process.
The celebration is attended by 40 foreign ambassadors، 7 ministers، and a number of officials، and cadres at Antiquities ministry.
The process of transferring Ramses II statue to its new place in the Grand Egyptian Museum took one hour.
The statue، which was discovered in 1820 in Badrashin، Giza governorate، was first placed in Ramses Square before being transferred to the Grand Egyptian Museum in 2006.
