Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held a phone conversation on Wednesday، with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the call، the two ministers tackled the most recent developments on the Palestinian issue and ways to coordinate with international efforts to push forward the negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis.
Ahmed Abu Zeid، Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry، said that the Russian Foreign Minister was keen to brief Sameh Shoukry on the outcomes of his recent meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in Moscow. The two ministers also talked about Egypt’s consultations with regional and international parties concerned with the Palestinian issue with a view to reviving the peace process.
On the other hand، the Foreign Ministry Spokesman pointed out that the two ministers also tackled the recent developments related to the Syrian crisis.
The Russian Foreign Minister reviewed the outcomes of Sochi Conference held in Russia. The two ministers agreed to hold a joint meeting to follow up coordination and consultation on the sidelines The Munich Security Conference scheduled for 16 to 18 February.
