Eng. Tarek Al-Molla، Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources witnessed the signing of two agreements between the Petroleum Ministry and oilfield services company Schlumberger during EGYPS 2018، to conduct a seismic survey in the Gulf of Suez.
The agreement was signed by undersecretary for agreements and exploration Ashraf Farag، and Manager of Schlumberger Hussein Ghazawy.
Minister of Petroleum Tarek al-Molla said that this agreement comes within initiatives announced at the inauguration of EGYPS 2018، as it also targets to conduct a regional seismic survey and reassess data on the Gulf of Suez region، produced for more than 60 years.
Molla confirmed that the Suez region is a petroleum- promising area which requires more work and studies to further discover oil and gas in it.
The Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2018) took place from February 12 to 14، 2018.
The exhibition aimed to bring together the region’s key stakeholders shaping the energy industry’s future، according to the event organizer Global Energy of dmg events' statement.
The EGYPS 2018 exhibition provided the largest and most important platform for industry professionals to gain insights into the upcoming oil and gas opportunities in Egypt and North Africa، from future licensing rounds، and project requirements to short and long-term strategic plans and priorities.
