The President of Burkina Faso، Roch Marc Christian Kaboré، received members of the Al Azhar medical convoy at the presidential palace. The delegation was headed by Ambassador Hisham Naji، Ambassador of Egypt in Burkina Faso.
He thanked Al Azhar and the Egyptian government for their support towards the Burkinese people.
Kaboré asked the head of the Al-Azhar medical delegation to convey his greetings and thanks to the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb، Sheikh of Al-Azhar، for his response to his request to send a medical convoy to his country.
“Al Azhar fulfilled its promise to help our citizens. I appreciate the sincere efforts of it،” Kaboré said.
Noteworthy، Al-Azhar medical convoy to Burkina Faso had performed on Sunday about 67 surgeries.
They performed surgery of tumor’s removal and examined hundreds of patients in the specialties of bone، abdomen، ophthalmology، chest، nose، ear، children، surgery and skin.
The convoy dispensed medicines for free.
The Burkinese doctors of the Friendship Hospital in the city of Kudugu attended the surgeries and medical examinations to benefit from the expertise of the medical staff of the convoy.
The convey included 24 senior doctor of Al Azhar University، as well as staff of nurses to examine the patients.
Al Azhar convoy dispensed about Six tons of medicines and medical supplies.
Noteworthy، The Al-Azhar medical convoy headed to Burkina Faso last weekend and will continue until 19 February based on the social and humanitarian role played by Al-Azhar towards the African continent.
