NEA to announce candidates’ symbols for presidential elections on Thursday

The National Elections Authority (NEA) is set to announce on Thursday the candidates’ symbols for the upcoming presidential elections that would be held according to a schedule set by the NEA.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will have first choice of his voting symbol because he was the first to register his candidacy.
Moussa and El-Sisi are the only two hopefuls to apply to stand، before the official registration period ended on 15 Februrary.

The election committee will issue the final list of candidates on 24 February، after reviewing any objections.
According to the list، the presidential candidates are current President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and chairman of the Ghad party Moussa Mostafa Moussa.

The NEA announced that 66 NGOs have received approval to monitor the upcoming presidential election.
Voting in the 2018 presidential election in Egypt will commence on March 26، as announced by the National Electoral Authority (NEA) on January 8. Sixty million eligible voters will cast their ballots in the election between March 26 and 28 in Egypt، while expatriates will vote between March 16 and 18
