Saudi security forces arrested on Sunday 10 Egyptian female teachers due to “violating the labor and residence regulations”.
"These women came to Saudi Arabia as accompaniments to their husbands, and are forbidden to work officially, and what they have done is contrary to Saudi regulations and laws,” a source told Sada El Balad.
Currently, they are in Shmeissi deportations department, Mecca while the Egyptian Embassy in Saudi Arabia is making intensive efforts to release them.
Yesterday, the Egyptian consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia revealed in a statement that the Egyptian teachers were arrested due to setting private lessons centers.
The Egyptian consulate contacted immediately with the Saudi side to find out the truth of the incident and follow up the actions taken.
