Dr. Khaled al-Anani، Minister of Antiquities announced on Saturday، a new archaeological discovery in Tuna el-Gebel in Minya governorate.
the discovery is Tuna el-Gebel tomb، it contains a huge number of unique mummies، 40 coffins of priests، a collection of jewelry in a wonderful condition، canopic jars and more than 1000 statues of servants.
Earlier this month، Dr. Khaled al-Anani announced a new archaeological discovery in the area of Giza pyramids.
During his announcement this morning، al-Anani said that The discovery is the first in 2018، but will not be the last، explaining that this discovery is likely to be for a tomb of a woman called "Hetebeit"، whose ruins were found 109 years ago.
The minister revealed that the history of that woman dates back to the ancient state، she was belonging to the fifth family، 4400 years ago، the tomb contains some rare engravings that reflect the daily life.
Dr. Khaled al-Anani assured that the coming period will witness many other archaeological discoveries.
